Voluntary Recall Statement of
3M™ Screen and Keyboard Cleaner CL680

 

Through testing of product samples, 3M has recently discovered possible bacterial contamination of 3M™ Screen and Keyboard Cleaner CL680. Although no incidents or health related complaints have been reported to 3M, 3M takes the safety of consumers very seriously and has decided to voluntarily recall the product from all markets. 3M Hong Kong has informed the Customs and Excise Department of the Hong Kong Government about this incident and is now arranging the product recall and refund.

Below is a picture showing the product and package of 3M™ Screen and Keyboard Cleaner CL680:

No incidents or health related complaints have been reported to 3M, and the potential risk for healthy individuals is considered very low. However, there are susceptible populations such as people with compromised immune systems or individuals with structural lung issues. A discovered bacteria, Burkholderia cepacia, is widespread and commonly found in environments such as soil, vegetables and roots from different plants, and surfaces.

With the safety of consumers top of mind, 3M is committed to helping consumers through the process of the recall of 3M™ Screen and Keyboard Cleaner CL680, which includes returning the product to 3M and refunding customers for the purchase price.
