I
have pain in my right
wrist from typing too much on the keyboard. The pain is
primarily isolated from the outer right of the small
finger and extends to where the wrist is. I've been
looking around for something to use at work: easy to put
on and remove during bathroom breaks and getting in and
out of the office. It should also be able to restrict
motion on the right edge of the right palm where it
joins the wrist. This wrist pad works well because it's
completely elastic and soft (no uncomfortable hard parts
like some wrist supports do) so I can wrap as tightly as
I need it to be. Because of the frequent use on a daily
basis, I'm not sure how soon before the elasticity wears
off.
From my experience, the thing about finding
the correct wrist support is trial and error, and this
has worked well for me.
1.
Insert thumb into loop with smooth side of
material facing skin. Wrap support over the top of
wrist.
2.
Bring support under the wrist and back around the
top of wrist. Secure hook fastener.
3.
Adjust support until it fits firmly, yet
comfortably.
Remove metal splint and
close all fasteners prior to washing. Hand wash with mild soap
in warm (not hot) water. Rinse well and air dry. DO NOT:
machine wash, tumble dry, dry clean, or use bleach or fabric
softeners.
Some individuals
may be sensitive to neoprene or neoprene-blend rubber. If a
rash develops, discontinue use and consult a
physician.
